Augusta, ME -  April 8, 2009:

Members of the Maine RV Dealers Association and Maine Campground Owners Association joined Governor John Baldacci on April 8th for the signing of the official proclamation declaring May, 1st through May 3rd, 2009 as Maine’s DISCOVER RV’ING DAYS.

This is the fourth anniversary of the Discover RV’ing Week promotion, a statewide effort to encourage the people of Maine and its visitors to experience the RV lifestyle and to take advantage of the many opportunities to see the natural beauty of our state.

“RV’ing and the RV lifestyle play a very important role in Maine’s economy,” said Governor Baldacci, as he welcomed the assembled guests to his office. “I am very pleased to be a part of this great effort,” he said.
“The Maine RV Dealers Association is proud to have the support and encouragement of the Governor and the legislature in our effort to promote tourism and the RV lifestyle in our great state,” said Sheri Huff, President of the Maine RV Dealers Association.

“The support of the State Department of Tourism, the Governor, and members of the legislature means so much to the many owners and operators of the Maine Campground Association,” said Pat Kosalka, President of the Maine Campground Owners Association.
The Maine RV Dealers Association is made up of RV dealers throughout the great state of Maine, and its primary purpose is to promote the RV lifestyle and to work to improve and strengthen the RV business in the state for all of its members and RV consumers.

Participatiing dealers from MERVDA will be giving customers that purchase a camper a Camp Maine Rewards Card. The reward card will give each customer discounts and free items at participating Maine owned campgrounds.
