Augusta, ME, February 11, 2008:

Members of the Maine RV Dealers Association, Maine Campground Owners Association, esteemed legislators and press joined Governor John Baldacci on February 11th for the signing of the official proclamation declaring March, 29th through April, 5th, 2008, as Maine’s DISCOVER RV’ING WEEK.

This is the third anniversary of the Discover RV’ing Week promotion, a statewide effort to encourage the people of Maine and its visitors to experience the RV lifestyle and to take advantage of the many opportunities to see the natural beauty of our state.

“RV’ing and the RV lifestyle play a very important role in Maine’s economy,” said Governor Baldacci, as he welcomed the assembled guests to his office. “I am very pleased to be a part of this great effort,” he said.
“The Maine RV Dealers Association is proud to have the support and encouragement of the Governor and the legislature in our effort to promote tourism and the RV lifestyle in our great state,” said Jeff Stoddard, President of the Maine RV Dealers Association.

“The support of the State Department of Tourism, the Governor, and members of the legislature means so much to the many owners and operators of the Maine Campground Association,” said Pat Kosalka, President of the Maine Campground Owners Association.
The Maine RV Dealers Association is made up of RV dealers throughout the great state of Maine, and its primary purpose is to promote the RV lifestyle and to work to improve and strengthen the RV business in the state for all of its members and RV consumers.

RV dealers participating in the Discover RV’ing Maine Week are Motor Home & RV Super Center and Whited RV Center of Auburn, J & M Camper Sales of Augusta, Harvey RVs of Bangor, Good Times Unlimited of Farmington, McKay’s RV Center of Holden, Houlton Power Sports of Houlton, Gagne Sport Center and Rod’s Cycle and RV of Madison, Scott’s Recreation of Manchester, Call Of The Wild in Oxford, Mid Coast RV in Palermo, Seacoast RV in Saco, and Lee’s Family Trailer Sales in Windham.

Each dealership will offer door prize signups to be drawn on April 8th and no purchase necessary . Donated prizes include a generator, $300.00 Irving gas card, free camping weekends, folding recliner lounge chairs, gift certificates and RV accessories.
